Uncle Tom's Cabin and the Help

I did not read the entire novel of "Uncle Tom's Cabin" but I did read parts of some of the chapters and I also read several reviews of the novel. I thought that what I read and what I found out about the novel is very interesting. I also found a short video that I liked. It does not really talk that much about the novel but it says some things about it.

The novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin" kind of reminds me of the movie, "The Help". Here is a brief description telling what "The Help" is about. An aspiring author during the civil rights movement of the 1960s decides to write a book detailing the African-American maids' point of view on the white families for which they work, and the hardships they go through on a daily basis. As you can see both the novel "Uncle Tom's Cabin" and the movie "The Help" both talk about what the blacks had to do and go through during slavery. If you have not seen this movie yet I recommend that you go out and rent it and watch it. It is a very good film!

My Creative Writing Assignment

I was not sure how to do this assignment but here is what I came up with on how to do it.

I took this photo and gave it the caption that I did because I thought that it would fit right in with where Thoreau is coming from in his stories. He loves the nature and to me it seems like nothing is ever going to hold him back. The picture fits into the nature category and the caption, “the sky is the limit” fits into the part where nothing is holding him back. This picture was taken when I was camping last weekend. I took it one night when it was just getting ready to turn dark. No one would sit here and ever be able to guess where this picture is taken. I took it on the side of the river bank. Nature is such a lovely thing all together!
